Our people

Diane LawsonDiane Lawson, Chief Executive Officer

Diane has over 25 years’ experience as an executive in the non-profit, health and social care sectors in Australia, England and the Middle East. With qualifications at degree and masters level in nursing, women’s studies and human resource development, Diane has lead on the development of an extensive range of highly credible evidence based policies, products and services to build workforce capacity.

Diane was for 7 years the CEO of the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council gaining stakeholder buy in and forging agreements that were intrinsic to establishing the children’s services and other sectors qualifications in the training packages.

For the past six years Diane has been working overseas including; in England, leading on the review of solicitor education and training and developing and implementing a national leadership framework for the adult social care sector. In the Middle East she has managed the development of nursery care occupational standards for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and developed a standards framework to underpin the regulation of the social care sector in Dubai.

Wilma Murdoch, Manager Children’s Services Central

Wilma is passionate about early childhood programs and making a difference for children and families. Over 25 years she has worked across a variety of government and private organisations both in Australia and overseas. Since starting as an Early Childhood Teacher in long day care centre, she has moved across the sector in a variety of roles to become more actively involved in both developing and delivering qualifications, and other professional development programs. She has most recently held consultancy and management roles bringing together stakeholders to ensure early childhood educators are inspired and supported in their roles. Wilma has completed a Bach of Ed, Master of Ed (Sydney Uni), and Cert IV in Training and Assessment.

RTO and Professional Development and SupportJohn Stewart

John Stewart, Manager Professional Learning

John holds a Diploma of Teaching, (Early childhood) from the University of Western Sydney, Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery), Diploma and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has over 30 years’ experience in the Early Education and Care sector.

Starting in LDC as an assistant John progressed to be a centre Director, OOSH coordinator and Area Manager of a private early childhood education and care organisation. John has extensive experience in managerial roles and as a trainer and assessor with TAFE NSW delivering Certificate III and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

John is passionate about providing high quality training and professional development experiences for Early Childhood Educators. In ensuring that children receive quality education and care John believes that advocating for social justice for children, promoting nutrition and increasing sustainability through practice and provision will empower children and families to build quality relationships in order to achieve successes in life. John is passionate about play based learning.

Melissa WoodhouseOperations and Culture

Melissa Woodhouse, Manager Membership, Culture and Services

Melissa has had extensive experience as an educator and leader in Early Education and Care services, in private and government settings. She has managed a diverse range of programs and people and has a particular interest in change management and team development. Melissa has a passion for positive psychology and aims to inspire people to recognise and build on their strengths.

Melissa holds a Diploma in Children’s Services and a degree in Management, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
