Toormina Community Preschool

An exciting position is available to join our team of dedicated Early Childhood Educators at Toormina Community Preschool.

Our centre is a community based not for profit centre that has been proudly operating since 1976. We are located 10km south of Coffs Harbour on the picturesque mid-north coast of NSW and less then 5 minutes drive from the popular seaside village of Sawtell. The preschool operates between 8:00am and 4:00pm from Monday to Friday during school terms and is run by an elected Committee of parents and staff.

This position has the responsibility of developing and implementing an inclusive program for 3-6 year olds, while working closely with the Co-ordinator to ensure the preschool meets all licencing and National Quality Framework requirements. The position is full-time, with a flexible start date.

The selection criteria for this position are:

Essential Criteria

• Degree in Early Childhood Education (3 or 4 year)
• Experience in a Centre based service, including experience in working with children with additional needs
• Demonstrated understanding of the EYLF, and the ability to plan, document and implement an inclusive program
• Knowledge of National Quality Framework and the NSW Children’s Services Regulation 2004
• Demonstrated ability to engage with children in consistent and meaningful ways and a history of respectful relationships with children
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to working collaboratively within a team, including directing and guiding early childhood educators and work experience students
• Demonstrated ability to work in partnerships with parents, including problem solving and negotiation skills
• Organisational skills, including the ability to carry out administrative duties related to room management in an efficient and effective manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Desirable Criteria

• Current First Aid Certificate
• Training in mandatory reporting and Keep Them Safe
• NSW Drivers licence
