Professional Learning
Children’s services staff need to be able to access a range of different types of professional development and training courses, whether they be short calendared in-service training sessions, courses run at their service or nationally recognised training. this is particularly important in a sector where up to 40 per cent of staff have no formal qualifications.
Community Child Care provides professional learning for children’s services through three separate arms of our organisation, Children’s Services Central, the Professional Support Team and our Registered Training Organisation.
Children’s Services Central
Children’s Services Central is the Professional Support Co-ordinator in New South Wales. Professional Support Coordinators are funded by the Australian Government under the Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP) to provide professional development and support to child care services. Children’s Services Central is managed by a consortium of key organisations that resource and support the sectors of children’s services in New South Wales. Community Child Care Co-operative is the lead agency for this consortium.
Professional Development and Support
Community Child Care provides professional development and support to children’s services. We provide a range of training (some of which is offered through Children’s Services Central) for children’s services, including fee for service training. We also prepare a range of resources for children’s services including books, magazines, newsletters and information kits.
Community Child Care RTO
Community Child Care Co-operative provides a range of Nationally Recognised Training for staff working in children’s services through our Registered Training Organisation, or RTO. As the peak body that knows and understands children’s services, Community Child Care has designed all courses to acknowledge the realities of working in the sector.
