Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process which allows an individual relevant prior learning to be matched to a qualification or unit of competency.

To apply for RPL, you will be provided with a self-assessment guide created by our RTO, which you will be required to complete.  You will be required to provide evidence that demonstrates how your experience, knowledge, skills and prior learning meet outcomes required for competency.  The RTO will than assess this information, alongside possible workplace visits, requests for further information or evidence and conversations.

We encourage individuals to apply for RPL if they feel that they meet the competencies for a course, have relevant experience (we recommend more than 5 years full-time in early education and care  settings) and are currently employed and have current experience.

RPL is conducted by our staff who have expertise in the subject, content and skills area and have knowledge and expertise in RPL assessment.  We ensure that evidence provided is valid, authentic, current and sufficient and that the process is fair, flexible, reliable and valid.

We recognise that learning occurs in a variety of ways and places.
